Why keyword search keeps wasting your time
A job board matches strings. Skill matching compares what a role needs against what you can actually do — which is the same comparison a recruiter makes.

Four steps, about two minutes
How CV-based job matching works
No scraping your profile, no guessing at your goals. The match starts and ends with the document recruiters actually read.
- 01
Add your CV once
Upload the CV you already have, or build one in Kariiya. That single document becomes the basis of every match — there's no long questionnaire to fill in.
- 02
We read your real skills
Your CV is reduced to a canonical skill set, so "JS", "JavaScript" and "ES6" all count as the same thing. Jobs are processed the same way, which makes the two directly comparable.
- 03
Roles come back ranked
Live jobs are scored on how much of what the role asks for you already have. Distinctive skills carry the score; catch-all phrases like "communication" barely move it.
- 04
Apply with the gaps in view
Open any match for a full breakdown, a plain-English verdict and your missing skills — then save it, apply, and track it in the same place.
Inside every match
What you get with each matched job
A score on its own is just a number. These are the details that tell you whether a role is worth an hour of your evening.
A match score per role
Every job comes back with a percentage you can sort and filter by, so the shortlist builds itself.
Matched and missing skills
See exactly which of your skills the role wanted — and the ones it asked for that your CV never mentions.
A plain-English verdict
Open a match for a category breakdown and a short written summary of where you're strong and where you're thin.
Role and seniority awareness
Matching detects the role type and level a job is pitched at, so a senior CV stops surfacing junior listings.
Alerts that re-run themselves
Save a search once and new matching roles arrive by email instead of you repeating the same query every morning.
Saving and tracking built in
Bookmark a role or apply, and it lands in your application tracker automatically — no copying links into a spreadsheet.
Where the jobs come from
Kariiya aggregates live roles from international and Nigerian job boards, refreshed continuously, and merges in vacancies posted directly on Kariiya by employers.
Duplicates across boards are collapsed, so a role cross-posted to four sites shows up once.

CV-based job match FAQs
The questions people ask before they upload a CV.
How does CV-based job matching work?
Your CV is reduced to a canonical set of skills, and every job in the index is processed the same way. A role's match score reflects how much of what it asks for your CV already covers. Distinctive, role-specific skills carry most of the weight, while catch-all terms like "communication" or "project management" are discounted, because almost every CV and job description contains them.
Do I need to upload a CV to get matches?
Yes — the match is calculated from your CV, so you need one on file. You can upload a CV you already have, or build one inside Kariiya with the resume builder. Once it's saved, matching runs against it automatically.
Is CV-based job match free?
You can start for free without a card. Free accounts get matching and match scores; paid plans add faster AI generation, deeper analysis and higher limits. See the pricing page for the current breakdown.
Does it work for non-technical roles?
Yes. Matching is role-agnostic and runs on a general skills taxonomy rather than a hand-written list of tech keywords, so it works for finance, marketing, operations, healthcare, admin and trades as well as software roles.
What does the match score actually mean?
It's a measure of fit, not a prediction of whether you'll be hired. A high score means your CV already covers most of the skills the role names. A lower score usually means real gaps — which the breakdown lists explicitly, so you can decide whether to apply anyway, adjust your CV, or move on.
Which job boards does Kariiya search?
Live roles are aggregated from boards including Remotive, Adzuna, JSearch, Arbeitnow, RemoteOK, Jobberman, MyJobMag, Jobzilla, HotNigerianJobs, JobsInNigeria and JobList Nigeria, alongside vacancies posted directly on Kariiya by employers. Roles cross-posted to several boards are deduplicated.
Can I get new matches emailed to me?
Yes. Save a search as an alert with your keywords, location and employment type, and Kariiya re-runs it for you and emails new matching roles instead of you repeating the search by hand.
Will updating my CV change my matches?
Yes, and that's the intended loop. Adding a skill the roles you want keep asking for changes what you match against, so matches shift as your CV improves. Pairing this with the ATS resume analyzer is the fastest way to close the gaps it surfaces.
